Founded around 1910, Central Garage started life as a small family bicycle repair shop in the village of Freshwater. In 1971 we took a leap into the automotive business, positioning ourselves as a customer orientated Volvo and DAF dealer. By retaining business character and friendly customer service, along with knowledgeable advice and an unparalleled aftercare service, we were able to cement our position in the marketplace and move to our current home at Riverway, Newport in 1991. Now with a Central Island location, our Citroën franchise was opened followed by the Subaru dealership opening more recently.
Today, we are the Isle of Wight’s only Citroën dealership. We also provide a wide selection of good-quality and competitively priced pre-owned vehicles. Our product ranges have continued to develop and in recent years we have seen the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as a growing range of commercial vans suitable for a variety of uses.
As a dealership, we are often commended on our customer service, including our most recent 1st Place Award for ‘Going above and beyond when representing the Motability Scheme’, in the Motability Dealer Awards 2019.
